Book of the Month: November 2008 - Brave New World
This book is already a classic of world literature. It is a must read for both adults and teenagers (except for children). Shows a highly technological futuristic society where people are born in laboratories with physical and intellectual conditions laid down by the process of procreation, fidelity to one person is frowned upon and all the people take soma (a legal drug in this society) to be happy at the end of their workday.
The story is about a guy who resists Alfa ideas of modern society as having to take "soma." He travels to a reservation "wild" where people still play and there are naturally disease. Seeing that it is possible vivre otherwise, decides to take one of the wild (child of an Alfa that such reservation was lost years ago) to civilization to demonstrate to society that their ideas are not as far-fetched.
Above all, the most interesting thing is that it is a book that makes you think harder. In short, the story is quite good and is a book you can not go to read. Its title English original is "A Brave New World." For being a classic is easy to find at almost any bookstore or library. Although you can also read or download online. Then the link:
